Reflecting on 12 Years of Bulu: From Subscription Boxes to Fulfillment Powerhouse

Twelve years ago, Stephanie and I embarked on a journey from our San Francisco apartment, launching Bulu Box with a mission to revolutionize how consumers discover health and wellness products. Little did we know this venture would evolve beyond our wildest expectations, transforming into the multifaceted fulfillment and logistics company now known simply as Bulu.

The Evolution from Bulu Box to Bulu

 

We didn't plan on focusing on 3pl fulfillment services... Many still think of us as Bulu Box - a monthly subscription service delivering premium vitamin and supplement samples to health enthusiasts nationwide. Our goal was to connect consumers with products that could genuinely enhance their well-being. As we grew, so did our understanding of the subscription box industry's potential. We recognized that our expertise could benefit other brands looking to enter this space.

 



 

This realization led us to expand our services beyond our own subscription box. We began offering turnkey subscription box solutions for companies eager to launch their own subscription programs. By 2016, we were partnering with industry giants like GNC, developing and managing their subscription box initiatives. Our capabilities extended to product development, website creation, customer support, financial management, and comprehensive kitting and omnichannel fulfillment services.

 

As our service offerings diversified, the name "Bulu Box" no longer encapsulated the breadth of what we provided. Thus, we rebranded to "Bulu," reflecting our evolution into a full-service fulfillment center specializing in omnichannel, hybrid hub-and-spoke logistics.
